This has been a busy week – for Dean at least.
He flew out to Reno NV on Monday. 3 flights later, he finally arrived in Truckee California late Monday night/early Tuesday morning. Tuesday was the marathon interview (9 hours). It’s a great company, nice people, beautiful area. Lots of snow in the wintertime (which should make Amy happy) and close to Reno for all the big city offerings that we’ve missed living in small town south for so many years. Wednesday he spent exploring the area and enjoying the cooler weather, while the rest of us melted here in the 100+ temperatures.
Thursday the travel started all over again. Early morning flight to Salt Lake City, then on to Seattle for a 2 day interview with a company that is interested in him. Part one went well, part two is taking place as I write this. Again he is enjoying the cooler temperatures, the beautiful scenery, and an added bonus, he gets to have dinner with my aunt Maritza and uncle Chuck. After which he flies home on a red-eye tonight, getting in some time tomorrow morning.
So for those keeping track, there are now three companies that he has interviewed with extensively, and we are waiting to hear back if offers will be extended. In no particular order they are located in Redmond Washington, Alpharetta Georgia and Truckee California. Hopefully we should know something early next week. Keep watching here for more updates when we know something more.

ok, i’m almost as exhausted as you are michelle — hope to find my breath back next week. what a great time we had with dean — laughed a lot and got to know each other so much more. dean was quite polite about me running my mouth with the thoughts i had when you called michelle — i think chuck just sort of died with disbelief about my never filtering my thoughts before speaking. oh well – too late to change now. love you girl!!!!
michelle, i can’t tell you how much we enjoyed being with dean this afternoon and evening — it was the first time we had true quality time with him and i loved the way he seemed to feel so comfortable with us.. all i can say that we sure enjoyed his company and knowing him more in depth as well. he sure is special!!
i sort of conclude that california/nevada suits him sort of the west virginia lifestyle (more like the way i am, chuck being more where everything is available to him) but, on the other hand the position in wa appeals to him as well. my personal thoughts (yess, very biased indeed, is that the most important thing is to accept the position he feels most comfortable with (mind you, i’m from the old school) and you and amy will be happy as a result. well, let’s face it sweetie, i always seem to go with soul as opposed to my brain which, by the way, seems to be more limited as the dayse go by. i love you sweet michelle niece!!! btw – determined to be objective about your family rather than selfishly thinking how fun it would be to spend time together doing our crafts!!! Hmmmmmm
